Planning a birthday party
- Realize your dear sweetiepeas's birthday is on the horizon
- Panic.
- Stop panicking
- Start planning
- Repeatedly ask your hubby questions like, "What theme should we do?" or, "Should I make a whole cake or just cupcakes?"
- Receive, "Whatever you want to do" as an answer to most everything.
- Make a list of people to invite .
- Pose the question, "Would 40 people singing happy birthday to a mommy clinging one year old be a bad idea?"
- Revise list of people to invite.
- Decide there is not enough time to order the snazzy invitations like you did for your first child.
- Wonder if there's really enough time to send invitations at all!
- Panic. Again.
- Figure out a way to have cool invites and give your guests time to mull over their answer(ok not much time, but at least you can stop panicking).
- Pick a theme based on what makes your sweetiepeas happy.*
- Decide to do both a cake and cupcakes (gulp).
- Go to the party store to pick up a few items so you feel you're really getting somewhere with this planning thing.
- Have your 3 year old refer to the store you're at as the potty store the whole time you're there.
- Realize your brilliant theme doesn't really exist.
- Somehow pull it together anyway (fingers crossed).
- Feel you're actually on top of it, and breathe a sigh of relief.
*I wouldn't want to spoil any sort of surprise (plus of course it leaves me open to change it on a whim w/o anyone knowing - ha!)

I can't wait! If I am invited, that is...? I can't believe baby-girl is nearly one!
