Mmm... Chocolate

Why do I choose the warm days to bake? I have had to make an effort this winter to take advantage of the cool weather to do my baking. It seems like it's the dead of summer before I'm craving a quiche, or meat pie, or roast. Then I realize that cranking up the oven to 400 degrees directly conflicts with our cooling system which works so hard to combat summer's hottest days.
It's not exactly hot outside today, but it has that spring-like feel. The heater hasn't kicked in since six this morning, so it's been at least 70. Then, since we're still in the need of a few window coverings the sun beats down and considerably raises the temperature in one half of the house. So, my craving kicks in and now there's a chocolate cake in the oven.
Darn that Paula Deen. Everything she cooks/bakes looks heavenly (especially the sweets)! She sucked me in to thinking I need to try baking her "Double Chocolate Gooey Butter Cakes." She said that no chocolate lover could resist and I am definitely a chocolate lover!
It's almost done. The aroma in the house is making my mouth water. I can't wait to run over there and chow down -ahem - I mean wait until it cools and cut myself a conservatively sized piece.
I believe that warming up the house could be construed as a good thing, I'm just getting myself into the mood of summer, ready for days in the park, trips to the zoo and adventures in swimming with two kiddiewinks... Not to mention, in the mean time I get CHOCOLATE!
