Bug: "My feelings hurt."
Me: "I'm sorry sweetie, what happened?"
Bug: "Mommy, you give me new feelings?"
Me: "Bug, I can't give you new feelings, only you can do that. I can help you to feel better. What can I do?"
Bug: "I need new feelings. My feelings are hurt."
Me: "I can't give you new feelings, sweetie."
Bug: "Yes you can. They're right there." (Pointing at the ceiling.)

I wish it were that easy. I'm not happy right now, may I trade my feelings in for something better? Oh wait, I see a happy feeling floating by the kitchen cabinet, let me see if I can reach it.
