Ahh Spring

Spring is fleeting (if existent at all) here in Colorado, but today feels to the core like a fresh new spring day. It's beautiful outside, gorgeous blue skies, brightly shining sun and I can see that our trees are beginning to bud. Even inside I can feel life rejuvenating, our house is mid transformation from a stuffy cluttered home into a bright clean space. Ethan is excited for our park dates already dressed to go, and Leigh is verging on a first birthday and growing every second between.
I'm excited for the summer. I'm ready to shed long pants and coats and replace them with shorts and sun hats. With lots of plans for day trips, a zoo membership to take advantage of, and possibly our first family vacation to look forward to I can't wait for this busy -and fun- season to begin.
To me spring is a sneak preview. It's a peek into the days of sunblock and sunglasses. It brings with it a promise of life -and things to fill life up with.- So when our spring is marred with our next snow flurry, hopefully I can recapture the feeling from days like today and know that a fresh start is just around the corner.

Weigh in

Sunday was our weekly weigh in for our diets and happily we both lost weight. Mikey is now up to a 6 1/2 pound weight loss and I'm up to 8 1/2. Not too shabby for two weeks work. -and it is work- ahh, I just love food too much.

Usually if I have a break, or a moment to myself I'll switch on the tv and tune into whatever cooking show is on the Food Network. But now, watching any cooking show turns into my own private torture. I've been forced to change my relaxation time to accommodate the diet as well. Now I'm in the habit of watching the Style Network... I'm hoping all the pretty clothes will help motivate me to stick with the diet. Plus, I may learn a thing or two to help my wardrobe when I get to my goal :)

Got bit by the spring cleaning bug

Yesterday officially kicked spring cleaning in the Jones' household.

I'm trying to remember if we've ever actually done a "spring cleaning" and I'm pretty sure we haven't.
I'm excited, although there is a lot to be done. We still have painting projects to be completed, shelves to be put up, pictures to be hung, not to mention the real cleaning part. Hmm.. maybe I can talk hubby Mikey into hiring a maid... I ran across an ad just the other day...
Anyway, I'm hoping for all of this to be completed by the end of the month, I guess I'll find out if that's a realistic goal.

I've already cleaned out our laundry room. It had become a place for us to stash things we weren't ready to find permanent places for. Now that it's cleaned it looks about twice the size - and I've already come up with a new project to use up the new space! A craft center. It will be a place where hubby Mikey can solder and I can sew or scrapbook. We can even make it a place where the kids can get really messy -ooh fingerpainting, my favorite!-

I can't believe how rejuvenated I feel just thinking about a super clean -super organized- house!
I know this house will feel even more ours once we've gotten everything where we want it, and that's something worth working for.
